Rabia Farheen is a Pakistani electrical & electronics engineering student born in  Lahore city of Punjab province. Her interest in circuits and computer technology inspired her to do her major in electrical engineering from The University of Lahore. During her undergraduate she designed robots and circuits to benefit the society.

Sheikh Muhammad Ibraheem is a Pakistani electrical engineering student, member of Institute of electrical and electronics engineering (IEEE) society, author and researcher. His interest lies in power engineering, robotics and electronics. x During his undergraduate degree in electrical power engineering in The University of Lahore. His passion in robotics led him to design a drone based on microcontroller designed ST Microelectronics. Furthermore, he wrote “Aerial Robotics with STM32F100RB Microcontroller” book in the year 2021







S.M. Salman Bukhari

Syed Muhammad Salman Raza Bukhari is a Pakistani electrical electronics engineering student and member of IEEE. He and Rabia jointly worked on designing “Medical Robot based on Cortex M3 Processor” in order to innovate the medical robotics technology in Pakistan

AC-DC Power Supply 1 ( Block Diagram)

  THEORETICAL BLOCK DIAGRAM So the basic purpose of a power supply is to convert and AC signal to DC Signal. The block diagram of the power supply would be something like given below The small electronic circuits cannot handle high voltage current. So a transformer is used to reduce the AC input and will give the required AC voltage value at output Now to convert an AC signal to DC signal A rectifier is used. The output from the rectifier is not a pure DC output. In fact, it contains a lot of ripples and it is highly not smooth. To make the DC output smooth and remove the AC content of the rectifier a filter circuit is used. This filter is either LC (inductor-capacitor) filter, RC (resistive – capacitive) filter. The choice of the filter depends on the designer of the circuit and to the type of power supply. The output now becomes a full DC with constant signal but still it is unregulated voltage.
