What to do after matric ?

Hi there ! choosing a right career  for the future can be very tough decisions for someone. After finishing the high school, a common student thinks what kind of subjects he/she should chose that should be better for his/her future.

There are different stages where a person has to chose paths for his/her future. And one of them arrives after you do Matriculation or O-Levels.

There are few facts that a student must know before he/she selects his/her study options
  1. Interest: Your interest is the most important because it gives you motivation to work for it. The more interest you have the more passionately you will work.
  2. General Knowledge: A student must have enough general knowledge of various subjects and fields that he/she could confidently explain a little about the field in the public. This helps her in choosing the right field because the more knowledge a student have the more confident he/she is choosing the right carrier.
  3. Research: A student should do minor research about the fields he/she is given to choose this helps him/her to choose the right field.
Alright now lets discuss the the fields that are available right after the matriculation. As I am a student of science so I know more about that field rather than any other field:

Fields:

After the completion of the matriculation a  2 year  intermediate program (High Secondary School Certificate) is available.
  1. FSC - Pre- Engineering: FSC stands for Faculty of Science. In Pre-Engineering the major subjects are Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics while the minor subjects are English, Urdu, Islamic-Study and Pak-Study. This is a tough program but after completion a student is eligible to apply for any engineering or technology program in any national or foreign university. A student must gain A grade or minimum 80% marks in this field of study.
  2. FSC - Pre- Medical: It is another field of faculty of science with major in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and minors in English, Urdu, Islamic-Study and Pak-Study. This program is a tough program also but after the completion of this program a student is eligible for any medical program in the national or foreign university. A student must gain at least A- grade in it with minimum 90% marks. The reason for such a high merit is that there are less number of public and private medical universities. The fee structure of any public medical university like Fatima Jinnah Medical College or King Edward Medical University is very low as compare to the private sector university which take fees in million rupees.
  3. ICS: ICS stands for Intermediate of Computer Science. Today mankind is living in the world which is driven by the technology. The ICS is quite related to the FSC-Pre-Engineering. The key difference between them is that in ICS the major subjects are Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics and Statistics. If a person choose this field. He/She is eligible to apply in limited areas of engineering, like Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering Programming and Software Engineering. But it is not recognizable by the foreign universities

As far as my personal opinion is concerned I will say that a student must chose a field after a thorough study of the various fields. Believe me I have done the same and now I know little bit about medicine, economics and etc. But if someone asks me about what kind of field he/she should chose then I will say that if he/she wants to do engineering and technology then he/she should go for the FSC-Pre_Engineering and if he/she wants to pursue his/her career in living science then he/she should chose FSC-Pre-Medical
